What’s All This About, Anyway?
Sam Pike grew up the second son of nomadic parents. He spent the first 12 years of life spread across two countries, three states, six cities, ten homes, and seven schools. Those days filled lifetimes, blossoming with trails of new friends, swimming holes, woodland forts, and general boyhood hoopla. Constantly deconstructing and reconstructing a sense of place instilled in Sam a deep devotion to the stories that bind us together. He learned early and fast that stories are our surest shortcut to connection.
Through a career path of trial and error, Sam eventually found his home in the collecting of people’s special journeys. He’s showcased these treasures in both documentary film and podcasts as well as a smattering of live storytelling events across Colorado and Appalachia. His guiding belief is that stories abound - as long as we know how to see and hear them.
Beyond all hope, Sam has managed to make a living from swapping tales - hooray! His clients span diverse fields - from professional arts organizations to local businesses to international companies and nonprofits. Thankfully, the one thing they all share is a passion for people over product. Sam’s love of documentary storytelling fits right in with such good-hearted dreamers.
Currently, Sam Pike splits time between a woodland home in Asheville, NC and the bustle of The Queen City of the Plains: Denver, Colorado. He and his network of cinematographers, audio engineers, editors, producers, and magicians are currently available to create documentary projects near you.
